- Youth Centers - General:
Cultural and knowledge gaps often prevent Ethiopian teens' adaptation to the Israeli education system and result in high ratios of school dropout and crime. The gap between youth and their parents due to language barriers, and the little acquaintance of parents with the Israeli school system, increase the risk of Ethiopians teens. In some places, free after-school time exposes them to crime, alcohol and drugs prevalent in their low-income neighborhoods. Our youth outreach center serve 70 teenagers in Kiryat yam and provide a safe and positive environment for their free time that keeps them away from the streets. The center offer a variety of activities, including TV, computers and Internet; football class and other courses and workshops; Jewish holidays; trips; summer activities; and activities with parents.

- Children's Center:
In Ethiopia, children in the villages usually play outdoors freely and safely until darkness, without their parents' supervision. In Israel however, most Ethiopian-Israeli families who move to permanent housing for the first time, settle in low-income neighborhoods where the streets expose the children to dangers of crime, drugs and alcohol. These days hundreds of new immigrant families with young children settle in Kiryat Motzkin, and therefore Hiyot initiated an after-school program for children ages 6-10, in cooperation with the Kiryat Motzkin municipality. The after school program provides 75 children with a light meal, enrichment classes and homework assistance. It operates five days a week, Sunday through Thursday, from 1:00PM to 6:00PM

They work with children to promote them and enhance their cognitive abilities, their social and reading abilities. The purpose of the program is the reduction of disparities and care towards children ready for school in tandem with the empowerment of girls.
